P&C The Parents and Citizens' Association meets in the Administration Block on the third Tuesday of each month. A reminder of meeting times is placed in the school newsletter, which is distributed fortnightly. All parents are cordially invited to attend these meetings.
The schools P & C Association operates the School Canteen, which runs five days a week, providing valuable service to students and the school community. While the Canteen is managed by Convenor, Kaye Ott, we rely on assistance of parents and volunteers in the day-to-day operations.
The P&C is always investigating ways to raise funds as painlessly as possible, while ensuring a sound financial base for our association. Funds raised by the P&C are used to buy equipment (eg library books, computers, musical instruments, etc), support school events and student welfare (School Chaplain, Year 8 parent BBQ, student representative subsidies in areas of sport and culture), all for direct benefit of our children.
The P&C fundraises through a family contribution scheme. This scheme has been in operation since 1995 and has made significant contributions to student resources. Our reasons for operating this form of fundraising is straightforward.
A successful contribution scheme reduces the need for further fundraising through often time consuming and effort expending ventures which also involve considerable expense to the participating families. It also means P&C meetings are quicker as the P&C no longer has to spend time organising fundraisers at these meetings. Most importantly, however, it provides a sound financial base for our association to provide improvements and facilities for our children's education. It provides an opportunity for families, who are otherwise unable to be involved, to make a contribution.
Each family is asked to contribute $50 per calendar year to the P&C in either: one payment of $50 enclosed with enrolment information for 2008 or two $25 payments (first payment returned with enrolment package, second payment due July)
Volunteer contribution to the school is most appreciated.
