The Resource Centre at Pittsworth State High School is a modern learning centre designed to cater for the educational needs of individual users and groups of students. The centre provides learning resources and services including internet access. Its overwhelming raison d'etre is that of a learning centre, as opposed to an "entertainment/recreational centre".
Earlier in the year students and parents nominated 9 teachers from our school for NEiTA teaching awards for their commitment to education at Pittsworth. I am pleased to be able to announce that Head of Department, Languages, Ms Kristy Thomson has been identified as one of sixty award recipients, nationally. I think that this is a thoroughly deserved and appropriate recognition for Ms Thomson who sets high expectations and challenges her students to rise to those expectations.
School Canteen Awarded:
The hard work and dedication of Mrs Kay Ott, the school’s canteen convenor has been recognized by her being awarded Regional School Canteen of the Year. This is a well deserved acknowledgement for the fantastic job that Kay does in the School Canteen.
