School Based Youth Health Nurse

Your School Based Youth Health Nurse is Fiona Flegler.

The Youth Health Nurse works with young people, school staff and parents to

promote health and wellbeing
create a supportive, healthy school environment (a health-promoting school)
connect people with other support services.

The Youth Health Nurse can provide health consultations and wellbeing information about:

healthy eating and physical activity
feeling unhappy or stressed relationships
healthy skin
personal and family problems
growth and development sexual health
smoking, alcohol and other drugs

Where: Office upstairs ‘C’ Block next to computer lab

When: At PSHS every Thursday and Friday

How to make an appointment: You can either see Fiona in person or make an appointment at the School Office - All appointments are confidential.

National Excellence in Teaching Awards

Earlier in the year students and parents nominated 9 teachers from our school for NEiTA teaching awards for their commitment to education at Pittsworth. I am pleased to be able to announce that Head of Department, Languages, Ms Kristy Thomson has been identified as one of sixty award recipients, nationally. I think that this is a thoroughly deserved and appropriate recognition for Ms Thomson who sets high expectations and challenges her students to rise to those expectations.

School Canteen Awarded:

The hard work and dedication of Mrs Kay Ott, the school’s canteen convenor has been recognized by her being awarded Regional School Canteen of the Year. This is a well deserved acknowledgement for the fantastic job that Kay does in the School Canteen.
